SETC received notice that the U.S. Department of Labor
Employment and Training Administration awarded $6
million – the highest level possible – to New Jersey for
the State Energy Sector Partnership Program.

October 20, 2009: SESP
submitted an application to the US Department of Labor
Employment and Training Administration for State Energy
Sector Partnership (SESP) and Training Grants.

September 11,
2009: Formation of the State Energy Sector
Partnership (SESP) Council, led by the State Employment
and Training Commission in partnership with the
Department of Labor and Workforce Development. The
purpose of the Council is to develop a strategic
planning process that aligns the Governor’s overall
workforce vision, State energy policies, and local and
regional training activities that lead to employment in
targeted industry sectors to develop a State workforce
that is ready to meet the demands of the energy
efficiency and renewable energy industries in New
Jersey.

demonstration of a no-cost, self-contained interactive
website, which will be launched in late June 2009. The
purpose of BuildingSkills4Work is to equip
out-of-school adults and youth with the work readiness
